At Rekindled Media, we focus on niche publications. We don't go through big bookstores to sell. Instead our goal is to accept and publish works that we can market to places with a specific market appeal. That means submissions to us should have a very tightly-focused demographic.
If you want to submit a work for consideration, you may send it through email or postal mail. Email submissions to Brandi Brown at bbrown@rekindledmedia.com. Send postal submissions to 119 Lyons Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601.
Non-Fiction: We are open to - and encourage! - short word counts. Titles along the lines of "Organize Your Closets in 30 Days" will work really well for us. Please send a description of your work, your qualifications for writing it, the expected word count, and the estimated completion date. For anthology submissions, please include how many submissions you would like to have, where you will find the other authors, and why the project is important.
Journals: We publish journals intended for specific audiences - e.g. pregnant women, law school students, etc. If you have a journal idea, please pitch the reason for the idea, potential locations (general info, not specific stores), and what types of quotes/expressions/facts you would include.
Poetry: Submissions of poetry should be between 20 and 50 poems. Please send a description of the overall theme tying your works together as well as 2 sample poems. Poetry submissions will be considered for the writing as well as the potential for artful production. Most of the poetry collections will accept will be short-run and hand-bound.
We strive to give an answer on submissions within one week. Author contract terms are negotiable. We will send a contract offer with the acceptance of the work if we choose your submission.
Please keep in mind that Rekindled Media is a small press. While we may love many submissions we receive, our staff size limits the number of works we can bring to press.
